Nathan Swank

I got my Bachelor’s Degree in 2007 from K-State, but have always had a love and appreciation for KU. A goal of mine is to go back to school and get my Masters Degree. Since graduating I have held many hats throughout my professional career. I have worked in the foster care system, with Child Support Services and as an Admissions Counselor with Flint Hills Job Corps. I found that I enjoyed helping students explore their professional passions and wanted that aspect of my position to be more of my daily focus. I look forward to helping our students, not only achieve their academic goals and dreams while here at KU, but I look forward to helping students broaden their academic horizons and help them figure out what makes their brains tickle!

When I am not working I spend a lot of my free time running all over eastern Kansas supporting my teenage son in everything he does. He loves playing baseball and seeing that joy and love of the game is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon or evening! We love watching action movies, comedies and KU basketball games together as well as enjoying every minute I can when we hang out. Other than that I love reading anything I can get my hands on with my favorites being fantasy , sci-fi and mystery, Sherlock Holmes is my favorite literary character! I also prefer DC over Marvel, I am huge Batman fan! I also enjoy playing games and working on my projects when I can.
